Behind a Smile

Alone by a tree there’s a girl with flowers in her hair

People passes and one of her biggest fears

Is that no one will ever see her there

No one will ever notice her tears

A little boy sits alone in the sand

He seems happy as he plays with his car

But he’s hiding from that unfriendly hand

Wanting to fly away oh so far

The biggest smile on the woman’s face

Behind the laugh is a broken soul

The wish for a better place

Scared of never again become whole

Some wounds hides deep within

Too hard for anyone to see

Some scars doesn’t show on skin

To judge complete strangers, how dare we?

Instead of frowns, lend them your eyes

Lend out your heart and offer your hand

It could do you good, make you wise

And with time and trust you might understand

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

“I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once.”

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Once in a while you encounter a novel that makes you laugh or cry, or like in this case you do both. It has been a while since the last time I was utterly moved to tears while reading but this book reminded me exactly how that felt.

It is witty, funny, lovely and sad. I want to go to the length of saying that it is the perfect mix of emotions neatly packed between covers.

The story of Hazel and Augustus took me on a rare ride of joy and sadness. This novel was of that kind that I struggled to put down. An easy read about a heavy subject.

I consider this one to me one of my new absolute favorites and I highly recommend it!

Thank you, John Green, for this amazing novel!

Happy Singing Face

One of my absolute favorite singer/songwriters is the amazing Jason Mraz. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live in Oslo back in 2009 and to see that man live is pure joy. If you like his music then I highly recommend you to go to one of his concerts if you ever get a chance!

Now that I’m just waiting for him to hopefully come back to Norway I was overwhelmed with joy when I found out yesterday that he’s releasing a new album on 15th of July! You can preorder the album ‘YES!’ on his website right HERE!

And now I can’t get the first single ‘Love Someone’ that was uploaded on youtube a couple of days ago out of my head! I absolutely adore it and wanted to share it with you guys.

Oh, and I’m having difficulties with my Facebook page these days. So for those of you who follow me; I haven’t forgotten about you! I’ll be back with my daily grateful posts as soon as the problem is solved 🙂

Toodles!
