What does Wanderlust mean to you?

I was thinking about this today, and I will tell you what it means to me.

Wanderlust to me is never letting go of that childlike curiosity. To travel somewhere, and being completely open to whatever that adventure is going to teach me. Then I will take that new knowledge with me on a new trip, and there I might learn something completely different.

It’s about seeing the world as my home. To not let go of the dreams and the goals. It’s about wanting more, but also being mindful and grateful for every moment I find myself in.

Wanderlust is about wanting to grow, as a person, a writer, and an explorer. To never settle for something that is just okay, but always striving to reach my potential.

But more than all that, I think that Wanderlust is about love. A love that’s hard to define. A feeling of utter bliss whenever I get that backpack ready and walk out the door. The heartwarming feeling of stepping out of an airplane at a new destination. For the moments where you watch the same sun that rises and sets, but from a different angle. For all the new people that I meet along the way. All the new relationships that are formed in different corners of the earth. The reality checks of new cultures and traditions. The sound of other languages.

To me, Wanderlust is about a love for life and all it has to offer ❤️

It’s an itch to move. When I travel, it’s not just traveling. It’s the urge to calm an itch.
