What Apple brought..

It was time for the big launch of the new Apple flagship on a mildly cold autumn Tuesday. One curious ginger waited impatiently for the big show but at the back of her mind she was worried.

‘Was there any hope of not getting as disappointed as the last time Tim Cook took to the stage??’

And so it began.

It started out good with the new iOS 7. I have to admit that even though at first glance I thought it was too much tacky colors it quickly grew on me. It looks very smooth and the whole user interface looks even more user friendly than the previous iOS. They’ve also have a new and improved Siri where you can choose between a male or a female voice. I wouldn’t say that it’s revolutionary, but they’ve done some tweaks and has come up with what looks like a good result.

Time will show if it is as smooth as it looks.

And then we got to see what we were really waiting for.

The iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s.

We’ve been expecting the iPhone 5s but the 5c was more of a rumored phone.

The 5c specs:

–       Same 4-inch Retina display as the iPhone 5 (full sRGB)

–        A6 processor

–       16/32 GB, 1 GB RAM

–        Bluetooth 4.0 and dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n

–       A higher capacity battery

–       8-megapixel, backside-illuminated camera with a 5-element lens.

–       A new front-facing camera also promises better performance in low light.

And let us not forget the all new five colors in polycarbonate.

Oh and let’s not forget the plastic case that Apple wants to charge you $29 for. They blew so much hot air up their own ass about the lovely design of this cover when it really just makes a fun and cute phone look completely ridiculous.

As Gizmodo wrote in their article:

“The iPhone 5C also comes with a ridiculous case that looks like a cross between Connect Four, a cheese grater and Crocs. Hmm… maybe that’s where Apple got the ‘c’ in 5C.”

I couldn’t agree more!

Let’s move on to the 5s.

–       4-inch Retina display

–       A7 chip with 64-bit architecture

–       M7 motion coprocessor

–       16/32/64 GB storage

–       Bluetooth 4.0

–       8 megapixels with 1.5µ pixels, 5-element lense, Backside illumination sensor

One of the things they really focused on with this phone was the fingerprint scanner on the home button. This has been rumored for quite some time and wasn’t really any shocker, but the technology looks better and more sophisticated than what I had expected. And you can also register more than one fingerprint to have access to the phone.

The camera and its functions has gotten a makeover as well. You now have the iSight camera and HD facetime camera.

The iPhone 5s comes in three colors; space gray (black), gold (?!) and silver (white).

And now you get iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Keynote and Numbers free of charge when you buy a new iPhone.

So where does all this leave the curious ginger??

It leaves her dissapointed and more curious to what Steve Jobs would have said if he could have been here to see this.

Apple is stable, but for me they need something more than polycarbonate in five colors or a new (just the same looking) phone in gold and a fingerprint scanner to make me want to own one. And if I’m going to be completely honest I was hoping for an iWatch, but maybe next time.

See you later Apple!

Apple – bring it on!

Even though a lot of people don’t want to admit that they’ve waited for Apple to launch their new products I think that most of them should admit that they are curious. I sure am!
And very soon the wait is over. Their press conference is set today and I will be doing a post on by tomorrow as well as a wrap up of all the news that I found interesting from IFA this year.
So stay tuned and have an apple 😉

A new addition to the geek family!

No I’m not pregnant 😛

But there are some gadgets that are loved in this tiny little family and recently I got a new favorite.

My boyfriend gave me something for my birthday that I’ve had a huge geek crush on for a real long time!

polaroid-z340-photoThe Polaroid Z340!

It’s a polaroid and a digital camera! Supports SD card and lets you choose which pictures you’d like to instantly print!

I just love this! And I’m so thankful for having such an amazing boyfriend who really puts thought into my birthday presents ❤

I’ll be posting some examples of the prints another time 🙂

An extra excuse for playing with Lego?

Not that you actually need one! Even as an adult Lego never gets uncool 😛

But how about combining Lego, iPod touch and apps with endless possibilities?

That’s where Tinkerbrick comes in!

They’ve made a Lego case for the iPod 4G that allows you to use that brilliant imagination of yours to make your device into anything!

How about a spider?

Or a guitar?

Mod your iPod on the go! Make a stand for it, a spaceship, truck or give it handles!

There are free apps exampled on Tinkerbricks website that you can use to really make your new Lego toy be more interactive.

The Tinkerbrick case is available at Amazon for $32,95 and comes in black, yellow, red and white.

How long before we’ll see a case like this for the iPad?? Or maybe even for Android devices??
